Brian Black - Former Deputy Chief of Police for Village of Maywood

For 15 years beginning in 1997, Brian Black served on the Village of Maywood police force, ultimately being promoted to the rank of deputy chief of police. During his tenure with the Maywood police force, Brian Black also served as an adjunct instructor, teaching in Triton College’s Criminal Justice Administration program.

After retiring in 2012, Mr. Black was hired by New Life Community Ministries to serve as COO. This role involved assisting the organization's heads with supervising its daycare, private school, and after-school food program. He held this position until 2018, when The Salvation Army hired him. With The Salvation Army, he served as its fatherhood-in-action facilitator, which involved coordinating a 40-hour parenting and relationship program and working with financial education and readiness service providers. Today, Mr. Black is the CEO of BMB270 Company, LLC. This job involves creating and implementing the firm’s strategic plan, as well as overseeing company operations and employees.

Mr. Black has long been involved with the community. For 10 years, he served as the community liaison in law enforcement, acting as a bridge between community residents and the police department. For the past six years, he has been a member of the FMA Ministerial Alliance.
